2020-21 Referee Clinics now open!

BC Hockey is excited to announce the launch of the 2020-2021 clinic and certification season.

To ensure that there is an educated and safe return to hockey this season, all officials are required to complete certification before participating in any 2020-21 games. Please review the certification options outlined below to see how to participate in the clinic you qualify for.

Available clinics are posted on the ehockey website or through the BC Hockey clinics home page as they become available. Clinics are now open and spots are limited to the first 100 participants on a first-come-first served basis.  NOTE: these are for ALL of BC Hockey officials!  New dates will be updated regularly.   

 

NEW OFFICIALS - LEVEL 1-2

Pre-clinic requirements (must be completed prior to registration):

  1. Hockey University: Officiating 1/2 (Approx. 3 hours)

  2. Hockey University: Planning a Safe Return to Hockey (Approx. 20 minutes) - No charge

  3. New officials18 years or older as of December 31, 2020 must complete a Criminal Record Check prior to registrationonline submission - No Charge

 

Clinic Registration, Delivery & Certification:

In-Person Delivery ONLY:

 

New official clinics will be delivered in-person by Yukon Amateur Hockey Association (YAHA) in collaboration with local Minor Hockey Associations (MHA)

 

These clinics will be schedule in accordance with the local MHA and may begin in November through the fall. Please consult Website or contact your local MHA Referee-in Chief (RIC) for projected dates.

 

LEVEL 1-3 RETURNING OFFICIALS (MINOR HOCKEY)

Pre-clinic requirements (must be completed prior to registration):

  1. Hockey University: Planning a Safe Return to Hockey (Approx. 20 minutes) - No charge

  2. New officials18 years or older as of December 31, 2020 must complete a Criminal Record Check prior to registration, online submission - No Charge

Clinic Registration, Delivery & Certification:

OPTION #1 Online Delivery:

  • Online officiating clinics will be delivered using the ZOOM platform.

  • Clinics will be posted on the BC Hockey clinics page, once available (coming soon).

  • At the time of registration, a ZOOM link will be provided on the registration page.

  • Upon registration, a confirmation email will also include a ZOOM link & your access code

  • Officials will be required to attend the clinic they have registered for.

  • It is recommended to use a computer for online clinics, rather than mobile devices.

  • Each registered participant must be logged into the clinic as an individual user.

 

OPTION #2 In-Person Delivery:

  • In-person clinics may not be available in all communities.

  • Contact your MHA RIC to determine if an in-person clinic will be available in your area.

  • All in-person clinics will be posted on the BC Hockey clinics once confirmed page.

  • Please note that in-person clinics may be limited regarding the number of attendees.
